Pope Leo XIV's First Encyclical: Magnifica Humanitas
On May 25, 2026, Pope Leo XIV released his first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas ("Magnificent Humanity: On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence"). In this important document, the Holy Father reflects on the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence and calls on society to ensure that technology always serves human dignity, the common good, justice, and peace. Drawing inspiration from Pope Leo XIII's historic social teaching, Pope Leo XIV reminds us that technological progress must never come at the expense of the human person.
