Funeral Mass for Francis “Frank” Paslawski
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Francis “Frank” Paslawski on December 5, 2025. Born on the family farm in southeast Saskatchewan, Frank grew into a man known for his love of the outdoors, his dedication to family, and his generous spirit.
In 1958, Frank married Verna Schmitz, and together they built a beautiful life in Calgary and later in High River. Frank worked with Greyhound for over 25 years, embracing the open road and the many friendships formed along the way.
A man of many gifts, Frank built the family home with his own hands, earned his pilot’s license, played multiple instruments by ear, volunteered his musical talents with “Reg and Friends,” and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed woodworking, coached and played various sports, and shared numerous mountain adventures with his beloved Arabian horse, Okie. Frank also cherished the years spent sailing with Verna and their children along the North Pacific coast.
Deeply committed to his community, Frank generously volunteered at church, the High River Community Garden, Sheppard Family Park, and anywhere help was needed. His greatest joy was his family, and he was a loyal and enthusiastic supporter at every one of his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
Frank is lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Verna; their children Danny (Wanda), Kerry (Monica), Cheryl (Jim) Munro, and Pat (Caroline); and nine grandchildren—Laura, Leah, Lori, Erin, Julia, Megan, Jared, Gibson, and Andie.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 12 at 11:00 a.m.
